DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Over the course of four (4) special meetings in 2017, the Board participated in facilitated discussions led by BK Consult which resulted in adoption of the Governance Handbook on December 5, 2017. Staff determined that it is prudent to engage BK Consult to facilitate a review session with the Board given the extensive work previously conducted.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The agreement with BK Consult includes a not to exceed figure of $4,500. A confidential Pre-Session between BK Consult and each Board member and key staff is paired with Session I which encompasses the special meeting on January 30, 2019. The cost of the Pre-Session and Session I amounts to $2,500. The agreement allows for an optional second session in the amount of $2,000 which may or may not be necessary at the discretion of the Board. There are sufficient appropriations to cover the costs of the agreement.
