Title

Sheriff's Office recommending the Board approve the following:

1) Award Bid 19-204-036 for the purchase of Juniper Networks Network Components & License for Maintenance and Support to the low qualified bidder, Zones, LLC of Auburn, WA; and

2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order in the amount of $121,676.69 plus applicable sales tax.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Sheriff's Office, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued an invitation to Bid for Juniper Networks Network Components and License for Maintenance and Support in the new Public Safety Facility.  Sixty-three (63) Bid Notification Letters were mailed, none to local vendors.  Eight (8) qualified responses were received, none from local vendors.  The qualified bidders were Hypertec USA, Zones, LLC, Opal Business Solutions, Xpyles, LLC, PCMG, Inc. Howard Technology Solutions, Walker & Associates, and Mergent Systems.

 

The selection committee, made up of representatives from Procurement and Contracts and the Sheriff's Office, reviewed all responses.

 

ALTERNATIVES

There are no feasibile alternatives. Network components and maintenance and support licenses are required for the Sheriff's new Public Safety Facility and the bid process resulted in the lowest cost proposal from a qualified vendor.
