Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The not-to-exceed amount of this Agreement is $650,000. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Reason for Recommendation: Sierra Child and Family Services has been providing specialty mental health services to County youth for over eight years. Sierra Child and Family Services offers a unique set of clinical services, not all available at the mental health clinics operated by the County Health Services Department’s Mental Health Division (MHD). Prior to referral of a youth to Sierra Child and Family Services, MHD assesses the child to determine if specialty mental health services are medically necessary, and in cooperation with the parents or guardians, determines what specific services are required. Sierra Child and Family Services is well equipped to serve youth requiring a complex array of services, including after hours and weekend services, when necessary. The services requested by MHD from Sierra Child and Family Services are intended to keep youth out of higher and far more expensive levels of care.
