Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The department has leased at its current location, 3883 Ponderosa Rd, Shingle Springs, since 2012. On March 24, 2020 the Board approved Agenda Item 20-0372 authorizing a budget amendment to allow the Department of Child Support Services to purchase and install a generator. To accommodate the installation of the generator, as well as other tenant improvements to the building, an amendment to the current lease is required. The department has been working with the Facilities Division to coordinate with the Lessor to make arrangements for the generator installation as well as other building improvements.

The cost of the installation and necessary materials and infrastructure will be amortized over a period of thirteen years. In the event the Department should decide to move out of the premises in less than 13 years, the Lessor shall pay to the Lessee a fee equal to the amortized cost of the purchase and installation as detailed in Exhibit H of the lease amendment.
