Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no increase in net County cost. The funds expended will be reimbursed by the applicants for the projects through an Agreement For Payment of Processing Fees executed by the property owner at the time the permit application is submitted.

Background: On July 1, 2006, Development Services Department assumed the commercial grading functions from the Department of Transportation. After a competitive selection process was conducted, the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement for Services 156-S0711 with Dokken Engineering on August 22, 2006 for an amount not to exceed $30,000 to provide commercial grading plan review on an "as requested" basis. On August 14, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment I, which provided for a one-year extension of the term, to expire August 22, 2008, and an increase in compensation of $60,000. On August 19, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment II, which provided for a one-year extension of the term, to expire on August 20, 2009, and an increase in compensation of $40,000. This amendment will extend the agreement for a third year and adds an additional $50,000 to the Agreement for an amount not to exceed $180,000, inclusive of all expenses.
