Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  There is no fiscal impact associated with this contract, as no amount is due for FY 08-09.

Reason for Recommendation:  Section 4330 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) requires counties to reimburse the State Department of Mental Health for use of State Hospital beds and ancillary services. The State Hospitals are Atascadero, Metropolitan, Napa, and Patton, all of which provide services to persons with serious mental disorders.  El Dorado County has not placed a patient in a State Hospital in several years; however, the State still requires execution of an annual contract.

This agreement is retroactive due to the fact that it was not received from the State until June 2009.

Action to be taken following Board approval:

1.      Chairman to sign two (2) original Agreements.
2.      Board Clerk's Office to return both original Agreements to the Health Services Department, Mental Health Division.
3.      Mental Health Division to distribute as appropriate.

Contact:  Neda West, Health Services Department

Concurrences:  This Agreement has been approved by County Counsel and Risk Management and a copy is on file in the Board Clerk's Office.
