DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Chief Administrative Office, Procurement & Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for the purchase of Plant Mix Asphalt Concrete for the East Slope of El Dorado County for the maintenance and repair of County roads on the East Slope of El Dorado County. The Invitation to Bid was published in the County's eProcurement system, PlanetBids, and eleven Invitations to Bid were mailed, three to local vendors, one qualified response was received from a local vendor.

 

ALTERNATIVES

Without Plant Mix Asphalt there would be road surface failure and public safety concerns.
