Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  No change.  There is no direct cost associated with this Report, which is required by the California Department of Aging and summarizes program activities provided with federal and state grant funds during FY 2008-2009.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The California Department of Aging requires an annual report that provides an account of progress made during the previous fiscal year toward goals specified in the 2005-2009 Area Plan for Senior Services and annual updates.  FY 2008-2009 represents the final year of the four-year Plan. The Report discusses the impact of activities undertaken during the entire planning cycle and how the Area Agency on Aging intends to use its findings in the planning process to enhance or improve the local aging services delivery system in the County.  This Report has been reviewed, and input has been provided by the El Dorado County Commission on Aging, advisory council to the Area Agency on Aging.  An executive summary of the report is attached.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1.  Board Clerk to provide Human Services at Briw Road with two (2) signed copies of the 2008-2009 Area Plan Year-End Report Transmittal Letter.  
2.  Human Services to submit the Fiscal year 2008-2009 Area Plan Year-End Report to the California Department of Aging.
