Background:
The 30th Annual Apple Hill Harvest Run event is sponsored by the Apple Hill Growers Association and the Camino School Parent Club. The Harvest Run this year will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and will start and finish at Primus Winery. The sponsors have requested the road closures as follows:
 
Full closure
Larsen Drive between North Canyon and Cable Road;
Larsen Drive between North Canyon and Carson Road.
 
One lane closure
Barkley Road (eastbound)  between Larsen Drive and Carson Road;
Cable Road (northbound) between Larsen Road and Carson Road;
D Street (northbound) between Carson Road and 2nd Street;
2nd Street (eastbound) between D Street and Larsen Drive;
Carson Road (westbound) between Barkley Road and North Canyon;
North Canyon (eastbound) between Carson Road and Larsen Drive.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The Department is recommending Board approval of the road closures to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event.  Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) The Board Clerk will have the Chairman sign two original Resolutions sanctioning the road closures;
2) The Board Clerk will return one signed original Resolution to the Department;
Action to be taken by the Department following Board approval:
1) The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Sunday, November 1, 2009, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. for the 30th Annual Apple Hill Harvest Run event.
