Title
Supervisor Santiago requesting the Board direct the Auditor-Controller to pay El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce promotional funding in the amount of $1,385 for the County portion of the United States Forest Service National Environmental Policy Act Analysis costs.

Body
Background:  At a meeting convened by Supervisor Santiago with the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, US Forest Service Supervisor's Office, the California State Film Commission, Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce, Lake Tahoe Visitor's Authority and the Film Commissioner, Kathleen Dodge, it was determined that film companies were being inadvertently redirected to other counties to film due to the expiration of the USFS NEPA document. It was calculated that more than a dozen film projects had been diverted elsewhere and the community had lost the revenues.

All parties, including surrounding counties, agreed to pay a portion of the costs to produce a new NEPA document and allow filming on designated improved recreation areas to occur with only a minimum administrative permit process required by the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.

Funds were identified through the promotions account and are awaiting approval by the board of supervisors.

Direct Auditor Controller to submit county promotional funds in the amount of $1,385.00 as budgeted in FY2009/10 budget and designated by the Chief Administrative Office to the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce.  A new Claim Form will be processed and forwarded to the Auditor upon board approval of this item.
