Reason for Recommendation:
Public utility easements, as shown on the Diamond Development Subdivision final map recorded in Book F of Subdivision Maps at Page 119, were irrevocably offered in perpetuity to the County of El Dorado in March of 1980 and accepted by the Board of Supervisors in April of 1980.

An application for Abandonment of Easement has been submitted to the Department of Transportation by Calvary Chapel of Placerville, requesting that the County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors vacate a portion of the front ten-foot wide public utility easement, situated along the southerly boundary line of Lot 44. Said parcel is also identified as Assessor’s Parcel Number 329-342-06. The area of abandonment is more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B of the attached Resolution.

The subject property is located on Commerce Way, west of Missouri Flat Road and north of Pleasant Valley Road, in the Diamond Springs area. Said action is necessary to accommodate planned construction of improvements on the subject parcel.

All utility companies that may possibly be impacted by this vacation have supplied the Department of Transportation with written notification that they have no objection to the proposed abandonment and have no facilities within the subject area. All other existing easements will remain. The Department of Transportation’s staff has reviewed the request and has no objection.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
