Reasons for Recommendation: As the Board is aware, County Counsel serves an appointive four-year term of office. My current term expires in early May, 2010. I am requesting reappointment for a new four-year term. It would be my pleasure to continue to serve as your County Counsel, and to help you meet the many challenges which face the County.
The Board conducted performance reviews for me on June 2, 2009, and on February 2, 2010. At the conclusion of the most recent performance review, the Board directed me to place an item on the agenda for consideration of my reappointment. The County Charter provides that "[a]t least ninety (90) days prior to the end of a term, the Board of Supervisors shall notify the incumbent County Counsel if he or she will be appointed to a successive term."
Thank you for the opportunity of serving as your County Counsel. I look forward to the chance to continue that representation in the future.
