Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  No fiscal impact or net County cost.
 
Background: The "Pleasant Valley 4th of July Parade" is an annual event sponsored by the Pleasant Valley Grange.  Requested road closures are for the safety of the parade participants, children, volunteers, and spectators along the course.
 
Reason for Recommendation:  The Department of Transportation is recommending Board approval of the closure to allow for the safety and success of this community event.  Area merchants are in support of the parade (Ace Hardware, Bones Roadhouse, Grace Community Church, Holiday Market, Pizza Factory, Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic, Pleasant Valley Store, Revamps Beauty Salon, Sam's Book's and Treasures and Wonderful Chinese Restaurant).   Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1.      The Board Clerk needs to obtain the Chairperson's signature on the Resolution.
2.  The Board Clerk needs to send a fully executed copy of the Resolution to the Department of Transportation.
3.  The roads listed in the Resolution will be closed on Sunday, July 4, 2010, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for "Pleasant Valley 4th of July Parade" activities.
