Health Services Department, Mental Health Division recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign non-financial Operational Agreement 476-O1010 with South Lake Tahoe Women's Center setting forth the roles of the Center and the Mental Health Division in providing maximum assistance for crime victims residing on the eastern slope of the County for a term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  None; this is a non-financial Operational Agreement.
 
Reason for Recommendation:  The Operational Agreement between the Health Services Department, Mental Health Division (MHD), and the South Lake Tahoe Women's Center (Center) sets forth the roles of each party that further the mutual goal of providing maximum available assistance for crime victims residing on the eastern slope of the County.  The Agreement is also necessary to enable the Center to access certain non-County revenue sources through competitive processes.  
 
The Center provides critical and necessary services to crime victims residing on the eastern slope, including but not limited to, 24-hour availability to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  The Center works with MHD to ensure timely referrals, client access to appropriate services, and cross training between the agencies.
 
This agreement covers the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  
1.      Chair to sign three (3) original Agreements.
2.      Board Clerk's Office to return two (2) original Agreements to the Health Services Department, Mental Health Division.
   3.      Mental Health Division to distribute as appropriate.
