Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement. Potential cost to the County would be for any assignment-related travel in the course of working with the County; at this time there is sufficient Public Health budget to cover any incidental costs of this nature.

Background: On March 23, 2010, the Health Services Department recommended, and the Board authorized the Director to submit a letter of intent to the CDC for an apprenticeship program. This apprenticeship program is a two-year workforce development program that provides opportunities for entry-level staff who show promise as future managers to gain broad experience in the day-to-day operation of local Public Health programs.

In April 2010 the Health Services Department received an invitation from the CDC to submit a full application, and on June 18th the Department received notice that the County had been selected to host an intern.

Compensation for Services: There is no compensation for services under this Agreement.

Contract Termination: This Agreement may be terminated by mutual consent upon ninety (90) days notice in writing by either party.
