Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Not applicable - there is no remuneration associated with this Memorandum of Understanding.

Background: The Health Services Department Public Health Preparedness Program is responsible for the development and execution of plans to provide mass prophylaxis dispensing at point of distribution (POD) sites throughout the County including provision of inoculations and other disease prevention measures. In executing this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) has agreed to provide suitable locations at one or more of its public school locations for POD sites. In addition, LTUSD has agreed to provide school buses and drivers to facilitate transportation of POD staff and/or the general public during times of a public health emergency, as may be required. There is no compensation associated with the MOU.

Termination Clause: Either party may terminate this MOU upon ninety (90) days written notice to the other.

Reason for Recommendation: Approval of this MOU with allow the County to continue to partner with Lake Tahoe Unified School District, to provide public health preparedness services to the community in the event of a disaster or public health emergency.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Chair to sign three (3) original Memoranda of Understanding 147-162-P-N2010.
