Background: The Sheriff's Posse of El Dorado County is a 501.3c charitable organization and is composed of a group of citizens in El Dorado County organized to raise funds to support Sheriff's officers and their families in times of need. Sheriff's Posse members are not peace officers and are not sworn members of the Sheriff's Office.
Reason for Recommendation: The Sheriff's Posse has specified the use of the donation be applied toward purchases for the Peer Support Team of jackets and books entitled "Emotional Support for Law Enforcement".
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Sheriff's office will work with Purchasing to make the purchases.
