Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The 25% County match of $10,420.25 will be met with OHV Vehicle In-Lieu Fees for staff overtime costs associated with law enforcement on the Rubicon Trail.

Reason for Recommendation: The Sheriff's Office received an award in the amount of $41,681.00. Law enforcement salary and benefits and general operating expenses for law enforcement on the Rubicon Trail are eligible project costs under this grant. There is a 25% County Match which is proposed to be met through the use of OHV In-Lieu Fees to offset overtime costs paid to deputies who patrol the Rubicon during the OHV high-season months. The performance period for this grant funding is July 8, 2010 thru July 7, 2011.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Board Chair will sign and date 5 copies of the Project Agreement
2) Clerk will return signed copies to the Sheriff's Fiscal Division for disbursement
3) Sheriff's Department will forward the signed Project Agreement to the State Department of Parks and Recreation.
