Title: Department of Transportation recommending the Board adopt a Resolution sanctioning the road closure of Merrychase Drive in front of Christa McAuliffe Park in Cameron Park. Road barricades will be located across Merrychase Drive at the boundaries of the park from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, for the 13th Annual “Cameron Park Foothill Cruiser Car Show”, subject to the conditions set forth in Resolution No. 110-79 dated May 1, 1979, and the Application for Road Closure. There is no fiscal impact and no change to Net County Cost associated with this item.
 
Background:
Scenario Communications and the Cameron Park CSD are co-sponsoring this car show  The Church of the Foothills will be opening their parking lot for the event.  Sponsors anticipate approximately 1000 spectators and the requested road closure is for the safety of the participants, volunteers, and spectators.
 
Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Transportation is recommending the Board approve the proposed Resolution for the safety and success of this event.  No involved agencies objected to this closure.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1)  The Board Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2)  The Board Clerk will send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Department of Transportation.
