Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Amount is included in IT budget for FY 11-12 and will also be included in the subsequent fiscal years.

Background:
In May, 1987, a previous Board approved perpetual Agreement 318-V0011 with Computer Corporation of America (CCA). IT contracts with CCA for annual software license and maintenance support of M204 and other mainframe software which is used to support the Recorder/Clerk's index and web presence and the County's Property Tax system. Information Technologies maintains several perpetual agreements for sole source software maintenance and licensing, approved for continuation by your Board on 03/29/11, Item #15.

Since 1987, several amendments specifying updated costs for three year periods have also been approved by Board. These subsequent amendments do not in any way supersede the original contract and all other terms and conditions remain in effect.

Reason for Recommendation:
Original contract language allows for up to a 10% increase in maintenance costs each year. This Amendment locks in fixed pricing for the next 5 years saving the County approximately $63,000 over the five year term.

Information Technologies recommends the continuation of this perpetual agreement at the quoted pricing as set forth in Amendment V for the term of 07/01/2011 - 06/30/2016. Quoted prices are plus applicable tax.
