Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no Net County Cost associated with this Memorandum of Understanding.

Background: The Health Services Department is part of a coalition consisting of Alpine County Public Health Department; Barton Healthcare System; El Dorado County Community Health Center; Marshall Medical Center; and Western Sierra Medical Center who meet bimonthly to discuss emergency response issues.

The State Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) funding grant requires local hospitals, clinics, and other medical service providers to be a part of the coordinated emergency response process, and to formalize their commitment to a coordinated emergency response. The HPP Coalition membership has been structured to focus on coordination of services provided by the HPP Coalition Participants and achieving capabilities such as interoperable communication systems, real time bed capacity reporting, volunteer registries, and facility-and-evaluation management. Each member of the coalition is committed to supporting the efforts of the group in response to a public health emergency affecting any or all members, whenever possible.

Compensation:
There is no remuneration among the parties to this MOU for participating in the HPP Coalition.

Termination:
Any party to this MOU may terminate their participation upon thirty (30) days written notice to the other parties.
