Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  There will be no change to net county cost based upon the increased funding from the Department of Insurance.  The department will be incorporating this adjustment into the addenda process which will have an offsetting appropriation in salaries and benefits.

Background: The District Attorney's office has had the Workers Compensation Insurance Fraud grant since fiscal year 2004/05.  Since taking office in 2007, the District Attorney has increased the amount of funding substantially from prior years due to his committment to investigate and prosecute workers compensation insurance fraud in El Dorado County.

Reason for Recommendation:  A signed resolution is required in order for the District Attorney to sign the Grant Award Agreement with the Department of Insurance.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  A Certified copy of the signed resolution will be forwarded to the District Attorney's office.  District Attorney will then sign the Grant Award Agreement and forward to the Department of Insurance.

The District Attorney will submit the revised revenue and appropriations during the addenda process.
