Supervisor Briggs recommending the Board approve the waiver of County Ordinance Code Section 5.32.170 to allow, beginning November 1, 2011, the promotion and sale of tickets by the El Dorado Arts Council for the 7th Annual Coloma Blues Live event scheduled for June 9, 2012.

Body

Ordinance Code Section 5.32.170 prohibits the advertisement or announcement by any means or medium, including by not confined to pamphlets, handbills, newspapers, radio, and television, the holding of an outdoor music festival prior to the granting of a permit.  As Coloma Blues Live is an annual event with documented success that contributes to the County's economy and the advanced sale of tickets contributes to the success of the event, Supervisor Briggs recommends the Board approve the waiver of County Ordinance Code Section 5.32.170 and allow for the promotion and sale of tickets for the June 9, 2012, event.
