Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Funding for this Amendment has been included in the Department of Transportation's (Department) Fiscal Year 2011/2012 budget and will be provided by the Road Fund in the amount of $6,669.43.

Background:
On December 7, 2010 the Board approved the Construction Responsibility and Reimbursement Agreement between the County of El Dorado and the El Dorado Irrigation District for the Coach Lane Sewer Line Rehabilitation Project (Agreement) in the not-to-exceed amount of $39,960 for a two-inch Asphalt Concrete Overlay for the southern portion of the street section within the Coach Lane Sewer Line Rehabilitation Project (Project).

Reason for Recommendation:
With County oversight, nighttime pavement grinding commenced on May 23, 2011 and continued into May 24, 2011. Late in the night it was determined the existing asphalt concrete pavement depth was not as originally anticipated and unacceptably thin, in some cases only two inches thick. This condition changed the character of the El Dorado Irrigation (EID) work and exceeded the requirements imposed by the County encroachment permit.
