Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Department of Transportation, Maintenance and Operations Division (Transportation) identified the west slope shop service truck as needing to be replaced, and it was included in the fixed asset list during the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26 budget cycle. Once the recommended budget was approved, a formal bid request was submitted to Procurement and Contracts, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, to meet competitive bidding requirements. Bid number 2025-0152 produced four (4) bids. The lowest, responsive, responsible bidder was Downtown Ford of Sacramento, California.
The replacement shop service truck is listed on the FY 2025-26 Fixed Asset list.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to award the bid to Downtown Ford of Sacramento. This would leave Transportation with outdated equipment that is required for road calls to repair heavy equipment in the field during road maintenance and plowing activities.
