DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 22, 2025, the Board adopted Resolution 045-2025, designating parking restrictions for County-owned or operated parking lots. Upon further review, the recommendation was made to clarify the language regarding parking at 360 Fair Lane, specifically as it relates to exceptions for parking spaces designated for the Veteran Memorial. A change was made to Table 1, Parking Lot Location, to say "360 Fair Lane, excepting those parking spaces designated for Veteran Memorial parking as restricted in Section 2," replacing the previous language of "360 Fair Lane, excepting visitors to the Veterans Memorial." This language clarifies that Veteran Memorial parking is still restricted as noted in Table 2 (i.e. no parking between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. any day and time-restricted 2-hour parking between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday). In addition to this change, 300 Fair Lane is also being added to Table 1. 300 Fair Lane is the lower parking lot adjacent to Building A that used to serve the old Sheriff Administrative Facility. There are no other changes to the Resolution.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to adopt this Resolution, leaving the exception regarding the designated parking spaces at the Veterans Memorial located at 360 Fair Lane without further clarification and 300 Fair Lane would not have any parking restrictions.
