DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for the purchase of aggregate base materials for the maintenance and repair of County roads on the West Slope of El Dorado County. While the not-to-exceed amount is currently listed at $90,000, if Transportation continues to respond to atmospheric river storms, the amount will need to be adjusted.

 

The Invitation to Bid was published in the County's eProcurement system, PlanetBids, and eleven Invitations to Bid were mailed, three to local vendors, two qualified responses were received, none from local vendors.

 

ALTERNATIVES

If the Board does not approve the agenda item, the department will be hindered in the maintenance and repair of County roadways.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no change to Net General Fund cost associated with the proposed action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 adopted budget and Fiscal Year 2023-24 recommended budget request.
