DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Since the Board approved the establishment of a cash imprest account for the Air Quality Management District (AQMD) in the amount of $100.00, there have been multiple occasions when AQMD has run out of change and required the permit or fee payer to obtain cash change at an offsite source, such as a bank or local retail business. Because one payment using large bills can completely wipe out a $100.00 change fund, AQMD is recommending this cash imprest account be increased to $200.00 in order to minimize the chance of using all change in the demands of normal daily business.
ALTERNATIVES
If Board chooses not to adopt the Resolution, AQMD would continue to occasionally run out of change which could cause an inconvenience to residents or businesses paying for permits or fees.
PRIOR BOARD ACTION
June 20, 2017, Legistar file 17-0580, the Board approved Resolution 094-2017 establishing the Air Quality Management District's imprest cash account in the amount of $100.00.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Clerk of the Board to:
1. Obtain signature of Chair on three originals of the AQMD Imprest Cast Account Resolution;
2. Forward one fully executed Resolution to the Auditor/Controller's Office
3. Forward one certified Minute Order and one fully executed Resolution to the Air Quality Management District.
