Supervisor Ranalli recommending Board:
1) Recognize California Highway Patrol Officer Ian Hoey for his dedication and extraordinary effort to establish partnerships, on behalf of the Placerville California Highway Patrol Office, with the numerous local government, education and non-profit organizations throughout the County of El Dorado in the establishment, support and participation in programs and events that serve to improve and protect the lives of all residents throughout the County of El Dorado; and
2) Authorize Chair to sign Proclamation to commend Officer Ian Hoey for his commitment to protect and serve the residents of the County of El Dorado. (Est. Time: 10 Min.)

Background
California Highway Patrol Officer Ian Hoey has protected and served the citizens of the State of California beginning August 17, 2001, when he reported for his first assignment with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at the Oakland CHP office. His career with the CHP to date includes assignments throughout the State that includes service in Commercial Vehicle Inspections, Dignitary Protection Detail, and the Governor's Protective Detail assignments.
Officer Hoey transferred to the Placerville CHP Office in January 2009, and as the Office's Community Resource Officer has dedicated his time in El Dorado County to build relationships that improve the dialogue and trust between residents and law enforcement.
Officer Hoey recently accepted an assignment at CHP Headquarters in Sacramento with the CHP's "Community Outreach and Media Relations Unit."
In recognition of Officer Hoey's active involvement in the numerous communities throughout the County of El Dorado and in appreciation for the level of service and assistance that he has provided to the residents and organizations throughout the County, Supervisor Ranalli requests that the Board join him in providing this opportunity for the "County Community" to both thank Officer Hoey and to congratulate him on his new assignment.
