Background:
On February 26, 2008, the County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors approved of the Resolution of Intent to Vacate Shinn Ranch Road and Fine Court on the Consent Calendar.
Reason for Recommendation:
On December 27th, 2006 the County accepted Shinn Ranch Road and Fine Court and public utilities easements as shown on Parcel Map #49/110. The County of El Dorado Planning Commission held a public hearing for Thomas E. Shinn's application for Special Use Permit #S06-0013, for the installation of an electronic security gate across Shinn Ranch Road. The Commission found that the proposed abandonment of the dedicated road and public utility easements was consistent with the El Dorado County General Plan, but required the gates to remain open until the Board of Supervisors takes action on and approves the general vacation of the roads and public utilities easements as described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B-1 and B-2 attached to said Resolution.
The Department of Transportation has received written communication from A T & T, Comcast, El Dorado Irrigation District and P G & E, indicating they have no objection to the proposed vacation as long as certain exceptions and reservations from the vacation are made. All public utility easements shall be reserved and excepted from said vacation, if approved.
The Department of Transportation has reviewed the request for abandonment and has no objection, and requests that the Board conduct a General Vacation Public Hearing on March 25, 2008 at 9:00 AM.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) If the vacation is approved, the Resolution of Vacation will be recorded.
2) Copies of the recorded Resolution of Vacation will be mailed to the affected property owners.
