Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Preparedness and Response (EP&R) Division has had Agreement 4741 in place with the Hospital Association of Southern California to provide Reddinet software to monitor the status of hospital emergency rooms daily, and other EMS resources, since June 2020.

Agreement 4741 for Reddinet software with the Hospital Association of Southern California expired on June 1, 2023. Central Fiscal and the EP&R Division initiated renewal Agreement 7470 with the Hospital Association of Southern California in 2023. County Counsel reviewed the draft agreement in May 2023 and provided revisions for the vendor to review. Due to an internal processing error which marked this contract as fully executed, the contract was not actively monitored. This has resulted in the need for retroactive approval. Staff have reviewed internal tracking procedures and identified improvements to ensure such errors do not occur in the future.

Agreement 7470 will allow the Hospital Association of Southern California to continue providing Reddinet software to the EMS Agency for a three-year period, retroactive to June 2, 2023, in the amount of $77,492.

ALTERNATIVES

Should the Board decline to approve this Agreement, the EMS Agency will need to find another vendor who can provide Reddinet software to monitor the status of hospital emergency rooms daily, and other emergency medical services resources. The EMS Agency will also be unable to process payment for the Reddinet software for services beginning June 2, 2023, through today.
