Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Installation of the “SPEED RESTRICTION” signs along sections of the Cambridge Road, El Dorado Road, Latrobe Road, Mosquito Road, Sly Park Road, and Starbuck Road is estimated at $4,200.00 and is available in the Department of Transportation’s Road Maintenance Budget funded by the Road Fund.

Reason for Recommendation:
To sanction the revision to Resolution No. 247-81, which establishes speed restrictions pursuant to Section 10.08.020, of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code, as approved by the Traffic Advisory Committee, February 7, 2007.
Specific Sites:
1. Increase of speed limit on Cambridge Road (No. 306) to thirty-five (35) miles per hour for the entire length of roadway, El Dorado Road (No. 8) forty-five (45) miles per hour from US Highway 50 northerly to Missouri Flat Road (No. 9), Latrobe Road (No. 18) fifty (50) miles per hour from a point 0.30 of a mile south of South Shingle Road (No. 17) to a point 0.60 north of its intersection with South Shingle Road.
2. Add a speed limit on El Dorado Road (No. 8) forty (40) miles per hour from Pleasant Valley Road (No. 77) to US Highway 50.
3. Amend speed limit on Mosquito Road (No. 60) thirty-five (35) miles per hour from the Placerville City Limits to 1,045 feet north of its intersection with Union Ridge Road (No. 2600), Sly Park Road (No. 90) thirty-five (35) miles per hour between Pony Express Trail (No. 25) and a point 120 feet southeasterly of Roland Court (No. 1991), Sly Park Road (No. 90) forty (40) miles per hour from a point 120 feet southeasterly of Roland Court southerly to a point 0.20 miles south of Sierra Springs Drive (No. 999), Starbuck Road (No. 67) thirty-five (35) miles per hour from Green Valley Road to 1,000 feet north of Hastings Drive (No. 511), forty-five (45) miles per hour from 1,000 feet north of Hastings Drive to a point 200 feet south of Four Springs Drive (private roadway) and thirty-five (35) miles per hour from 200 feet south of Four Springs Drive to Deer Valley Road (No. 66).
4. Remove speed limit on Sly Park Road (No. 90) forty-five (45) miles per hour from Sierra Springs Drive (No. 999) to a point 1.3 miles south of Sierra Springs Drive.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
Installation, relocation, and removal of appropriate “Speed Limit” signs by the Department of Transportation.
