DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On July 16, 2024, the Board heard the Introduction (First Reading) of Ordinance 5205 amending the El Dorado County Ordinance Code, Title 3 - Revenue and Finance, Chapter 3.08 Leases of County Property, to change the authority for airport agreements and leases from the Director of Planning and Building to the Airport Director and Continued the matter to July 23, 2024 for Final Passage (Second Reading).
On January 23, 2024, the Board approved the reassignment of the Airports program to the Chief Administrative Office, to be effective July 1, 2024 (Legistar Item 23-2157). In anticipation of this transition, it is necessary to re-assign the authority delegated to the Director of Planning and Building for temporary use agreements, airport ground leases, and County-owned hangar leases for use of the Placerville or Georgetown Airport, subject to approval by County Counsel.
On June 25, 2024, the Board the Board provided conceptual approval for the ordinance amendment (Legistar Item 24-1111).
The ordinance will take effect 30 days following Final Passage.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve this ordinance and direct staff to return with an updated ordinance.
