DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:
Health and Human Services Agency recommending the Board proclaim November 19, 2016 as National Adoption Day in the County of El Dorado, and adopt a Proclamation recognizing the services of Lilliput Children's Services, Sierra Forever Families, Sierra Child and Family Services, and the citizens of El Dorado County who have provided permanent families for children through adoption.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
Health and Human Services Agency oversees the local Foster Care and Adoption programs and helps place children into foster homes and arrange for the permanent adoption of children through collaboration with Lilliput Children’s Services, Sierra Forever Families, Sierra Child and Family Services, and other private, non-profit adoption organizations. During the period October 1, 2015 through September 1, 2016, fifty four (54) children in El Dorado County were successfully placed into permanent homes and families through the adoption process.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Board of Supervisors may elect not to adopt this Proclamation.

It is recommended that the Board approve this item.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost or financial impact to the County associated with this Proclamation.
