DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Occasionally, private citizens or companies offer small donations of cash, goods, and services in support of various programs within the Parks Division. California law (Government Code, 25355) authorizes the Board of Supervisors to delegate authority for accepting donations to county officers or employees. On July 13, 2021, the Board adopted Resolution 081-2021, delegating authority to the Chief Administrative Officer or designee to accept individual donations, up to $10,000, with the requirement for a report of all donations of $10,000 or less to be provided to the Board at the end of each fiscal year.

This Board item represents the fourth annual report of donations received by the Chief Administrative Office, made in support of programs and services provided by the Parks Division. For this reporting period of Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025), monetary donations were received for the support of the River, Dog Park, Rubicon Trail, El Dorado Trail, Skate Park, and Henningsen Lotus Park programs.

A total of 33 monetary donations were made for a total of $4,385, ranging from $5 to $1,500 per donation. Please refer to Attachment A for the detailed annual report.

In addition, an anonymous donation of 18 standard Mach 7 Disk Golf baskets for Pioneer Park was received during this reporting period with a total value of approximately $8,000.
