DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The strip of land, 25 feet in width, within Parcel A of Parcel Map recorded in Book 40 of Parcel Maps, at Page 81, El Dorado County Records, said Easement described on said map as “25’ Drainage Easement” was offered to the County of El Dorado by Philip R. Onnela on an Owners Certificate recorded on March 10, 1989 by the El Dorado County Recorder in Book 3099 Page 491 and referenced on Parcel Map Book 40 Page 81.The 25 foot Drainage Easement was rejected by the El Dorado County Surveyor on March 9,1989 and the Parcel Map recorded on March 10, 1989.

 

A request has been submitted by Catherine M. Huffman, an unmarried woman Richard J. Anderson, an unmarried man, as joint tenants, owners of APN 048-240-031, requesting that the County of El Dorado, vacate the 25 foot Drainage Easement located the southern boundary of subject property. Said easement is more particularly described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B attached.

 

The El Dorado County Department of Transportation has not used said 25 foot Drainage Easement for the purposes for which it was dedicated and find no present or future need exists for that easement and do not object to its vacation, and to that end, have provided approval letters to the County Surveyor’s Office.

The El Dorado County Department of Transportation has not used said 25 foot Drainage Easement for the purposes for which it was dedicated and find no present or future need exists for that easement and do not object to its vacation, and to that end, have provided approval letters to the County Surveyor’s Office.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The Surveyor’s Office collects a fee for processing the Abandonment of Easement on a time and materials basis.  There is no fiscal impact as a result of the approval of this item.

 

CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS

1) Clerk of the Board to obtain the Chair's signature on the one (1) Resolution.

2) Clerk of the Board to record the Resolution at the Recorder’s Office.

3) Clerk of the Board to return a copy of the recorded Resolution for further processing to the Surveyor's Office, Attn: Carter Meyers.
