DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On October 24, 2023, the Purchasing Agent executed Equipment Rental Agreement 7961 with Herc Rentals Inc. for a three-year term with a total agreement amount of $60,000. Equipment rental services under this agreement are necessary to rent various types of equipment for various County departments, for maintenance, repair, and construction related activities. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, excavators, tractors, lifts, cranes, dump trucks, graders, and loaders.
The County has been a member of OMNIA Partners since August 11, 2005, (member identification number 4001383), and has elected to utilize this cooperative contract as authorized under Policy C-17 Section 3.6 (E). Herc Rentals Inc. is an authorized equipment rental and related products and services under OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing Agreement 2019000318.
Due to the continued demand for equipment rental services, Amendment I extends the term approximately one year to coincide with the expiration date of the OMNIA Cooperative Purchasing Agreement 2019000318, for a new expiration date of October 31, 2027.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve the Amendment, but the current Agreement will expire on October 23, 2026, and Departments will not have access to equipment such as excavators, tractors, lifts, cranes, dump trucks, graders, and loaders.
