DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Human Resources Department is recommending the appointment of Amanda Earnshaw to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Ms. Earnshaw competed in an open and competitive recruitment process and currently serves as Interim Director of Information Technologies. During her interim tenure, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership in stabilizing internal operations, enhancing engagement with both elected and appointed departments, and aligning IT services with countywide strategic goals.
She brings over 20 years of progressive IT leadership experience in both public and private sectors. Approval of this item will remove her interim status as the Director of Information Technologies and transition her into the permanent role as Chief Information Officer. Her benefits and other compensation will be administered per the Salary and Benefits Resolution for Unrepresented Employees.
ALTERNATIVES
If not approved, the Board will be required to consider other eligible candidates or conduct a new recruitment for the position of Chief Information Officer.
