DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division issued an Invitation to Bid for the purchase of Waterborne Traffic Line Paint. Road marking paint material is necessary for striping and marking County roadways in accordance with State and Federal traffic regulations. Without this product roadways would not be properly marked, resulting in dangerous motoring and pedestrian conditions.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding is allocated and available in the adopted Fiscal Year 2022-23 Department of Transportation's budget. Typically, road marking paint material is funded by the Road Fund for routine road maintenance purposes. Occasionally, supplies are required for maintenance work funded by alternate sources, such as Tribe funds. Future year budget proposals will include funding from the appropriate sources for purchases under the remaining term of the purchase order contract for Board consideration.
