Community Development Agency - Transportation Division, recommending the Board approve the following:

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

At the request of the Community Development Agency - Transportation Division, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Waterborne Traffic Line Paint, purchasing road marking paint material is necessary for striping and marking County roadways in accordance with State and Federal traffic regulations.

 

Eleven invitations to bid were mailed, five responses were received, none from local vendors.

 

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Without this product roadways would not be properly marked, resulting in dangerous motoring and pedestrian conditions.

CAO RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve this item.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The Transportation Division has sufficient funds in the adopted Fiscal Year 2016/17 budget for the recommended purchase. Typically, road marking paint material is funded by the Road Fund for routine road maintenance purposes. Occasionally, supplies are required for maintenance work funded by alternate sources, such as Tribe funds. Future year budget proposals will include funding from the appropriate sources for purchases under the remaining term of the blanket purchase order for Board consideration.
