DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On January 7, 2025, with Legistar item 24-1928, the Board updated the ad hoc committees to reflect new appointments, which included disbanding the Housing and Homelessness Programs Ad Hoc Committee. The County has in the past appointed a Housing and Homelessness Ad Hoc Committee to represent the County at meetings with stakeholders on Housing and Homelessness Programs and discuss County Housing and Homelessness Programs’ plans. Prior to the disbanding of the Ad Hoc, the Board appointed the District 3 and 4 supervisors to represent the County on the Ad Hoc Committee.
On January 28, 2025, with Legistar item 25-0217, the Board directed “staff to return to the Board to establish a Homeless Ad Hoc Committee, which would include a discussion as to how food is distributed within El Dorado”. Staff are requesting that the Board appoint two members to the Housing and Homelessness Ad Hoc Committee. Once appointed staff will meet with the Ad Hoc and develop a plan to discuss how food is distributed in the County and Housing and Homelessness Programs.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose to not recreate the Housing and Homelessness Ad Hoc Committee.
