2) Authorize the Clerk of the Board to release the Payment and Performance Bonds to the Surety upon notification from the Transportation Division after the one-year guarantee period.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The contract for the Pleasant Valley Road (SR 49)/Patterson Drive Intersection Signalization, CIP No. 53320 (Project), was approved by the Board of Supervisors (Board) on December 3, 2013 (reference Legistar Item 13-1011, version 1). The Project was opened to motorists in October 2014. Recordation of the Notice of Acceptance will start legal time frames for guarantees, a lien period, and return of retention monies. Recordation of the Notice of Acceptance will start the one-year time frame for releasing the Payment and Performance Bonds to the Surety.

Original Bid: $1,747,742.02
Contract Item Cost: $1,800,000.00
Contract Change Order Cost: $275,000.00
Total Direct Construction Cost: $2,075,000.00
Direct Construction Budget: $2,267,245.00
Major contract change orders on the Project dealt with water pollution control and removing and replacing unsuitable material encountered in the roadway subgrade.
The costs listed are estimates. The Transportation Division (Transportation) will be closing out the Project with the Contractor and finalizing costs over the coming weeks. Any significant deviations from the estimates above that exceed Transportation's allocated authority will be brought back for the Board for review and approval in a subsequent agenda item.

CAO RECOMMENDATION
CAO recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign the Notice of Acceptance for the Pleasant Valley Road (SR 49)/Patterson Drive Intersection Signalization project to begin the project close-out process.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no change to Net County Cost associated with this item. The anticipated direct construction cost is less than the direct construction budget established by the Board.
CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
1) The Clerk of the Board will send the Notice of Acceptance to the Recorder/Clerk's Office for recordation within ten (10) days and forward a copy of the recorded Notice of Acceptance to Transportation; and
2) One year after the recordation of the Notice of Acceptance, Transportation will verify that all warranty work, if any, has been satisfactorily completed and will notify the Clerk of the Board in writing to release the Bonds.
