REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:  At the request of the Sheriff's Department, the Procurement and Contracts Division issued Invitation to Bid #07-064-158 for the purchase of Patrol Vehicle Equipment.  On June 19, 2007, item # 24, the Board of Supervisors awarded bid # 07-064-158 to the low qualified bidder Lehr Auto Electric in the amount of $300,000.00 for a twelve month period expiring on June 18, 2008.  Lehr Auto Electric has agreed to extend the Bid with the same pricing and all other terms and conditons of the original bid.

In accordance with Board of Supervisors Policy C-17, Section 5.9(f), the Procurement Division conducted a comparative market analysis to verify that the prices available under the current contract remain competitive.  The Purchasing Agent has determined that it is more economical to extend the current bid rather than issue a new one.  A spreadsheet showing the results of the comparative market analysis is attached for your review.

FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST:  Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Sheriff Department's budget.  General Fund.

ACTION TO BE TAKEN FOLLOWING APPROVAL:  Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts Division will extend the blanket purchase order for a twelve month term in the amount of $300,000.00 to Lehr Auto Electric.
