Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. The Sheriff's FY07/08 budget contains funding to pay for these services.
Background: In accordance with Government Code Section 54202 and the County's Purchasing Ordinance, the Sheriff's Office is advising your Board of all current perpetual contracts administered by the Sheriff's Office. All of these agreements are on file with the Board Clerk.
Reason for Recommendation: The Sheriff is requesting that your Board approve the continuation of the current perpetual agreements for service for the following agreements:
1. Global Tower, LCC - A perpetual license agreement for space in the company's radio vault on Genoa Peak at an annual cost of $4,950. This agreement has been in place since 1999.
2. Sirron Software Corporation - A perpetual maintenance agreement for a specialized software program used by the department's Civil Section at an annual cost of $3,018. This agreement has been in place since 1999.
3. TracNet Corporation - A perpetual maintenance agreement for various modules of the Sheriff's Criminal Information System at an annual cost of $71,303. This agreement has been in place since 1996.
4. El Dorado Union High School District - A perpetual inter-agency service agreement for the jail school in Placerville for payment of actual costs in excess of the reimbursement from the State of California for Average Daily Attendance. Costs vary from year to year, but are typically between $40,000 and $50,000. Agreement in place since 1992.
The Purchasing Agent concurs with the department's request noting that this contract was initiated prior to the adoption of the revised procurement policy in March of 2007 and is therefore not subject to the requirements set forth therein.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Board will (1) approve the continuation of the current perpetual agreements for service; and (2) the Purchasing Agent will prepare the necessary blanket purchase orders that will permit payment to these vendors for FY2007-2008.
