Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

California Government Code § 50075.1 and § 50075.3 require the Library to file a report with the Board of Supervisors identifying the amount of funds collected and expended for special taxes and benefit assessments in County Service Area 10.  These reports must be approved by the Board of Supervisors before December 31, 2026.

The benefit assessments for extended library services in Cameron Park Library Zone D are $25 per dwelling unit, $20 per apartment, and $12.50 per mobile home.  These benefit assessments are a continuation of the pre-existing benefit assessments that have been in place, approved by the voters in June 1994, and collected prior to the effective date of Proposition 218 with no increases in the amounts and no change in the methodology for calculating said amounts.  Under Chapter 3.30 of the County Ordinance Code, an annual written report, containing a description of each parcel of real property and the amount of the charge for each parcel, must be prepared and submitted to the Board of Supervisors.  The annual report for Cameron Park Library Zone D is attached.
