Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On November 14, 2023, mid-size SUV #10-540 was involved in an accident. The vehicle was towed back to Fleet Services and has been out of service ever since. Risk Management staff, as well as Transportation staff, worked with insurance adjusters on the claim. On June 14, 2024, notification was received stating insurance has found the vehicle to be a total loss with a total reimbursement cost of $42,044.19. The reimbursement check will be included in the requested adjustments as revenue during the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 Adopted Budget process and the remaining funds required to purchase the replacement vehicle will be funded by Fleet Internal Service Funds.

Department of Transportation is requesting to add one (1) mid-size SUV to the FY 2024-25 Fixed Asset list to replace vehicle #10-540, for a total not-to-exceed amount of $50,000.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to approve the addition of one (1) mid-size SUV to the FY 2024-25 Fixed Asset list, however that would leave vehicle #10-540 without a replacement and the Sheriffs Department short one (1) vehicle.
