Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Community Development Agency,  Transportation Division budget.  Approximately 50% of the funding is Grant Funding from the United States Forest Service in the amount of $150,000.00 with the remaining amount funded by the Road Fund.
 
Reason for Recommendation  
At the request of Community Development Agency, Transportation Division, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for one (1) new high side dump air regenerative highway sweeper.  Forty-one (41) invitations to bid were mailed out, two (2) to local vendors, one qualified response was received, none from local vendors.  GCS Environmental Equipment Services, Inc. of Sacramento, CA. is the sole qualified bidder.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval
Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts division will issue a purchase order in the amount of $254,605.00 plus applicable taxes and fees (estimated at $18,678.38) for a one time purchase to GCS Environmental Equipment Services, Inc of Sacramento, CA.
