Installation of the parking restriction signs on Willow Street are estimated to cost a total of $2,000.00. Funding to complete the work is included in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Transportation Division budget.
Reason for Recommendation
Transportation recommends the Board approve the new resolution to sanction the revision to Resolution No. 252-81, which established parking prohibited zones pursuant to Section 10.12.010, of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code, as approved by the Traffic Advisory Committee, October 30, 2014.
A "No Parking" zone is appropriate for both sides of Willow Street. Willow Street is a local roadway that does not meet today's standards for roadway width or shoulder area. The placement of "No Parking" signage will allow the roadway to maintain the existing 15 foot width without obstruction, allowing motorists to move through the narrow roadway in a safer manner.
