Title
Supervisor Novasel recommending the Board approve and authorize the Chief Administrative Officer to sign amendment I to Funding Agreement 4018 with the El Dorado Community Foundation, on behalf of Tahoe Home Connection, authorizing the expanded scope of the agreement with no change to the $1,500 payment amount.
FUNDING: General Fund.
Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On April 23, 2019, the Board directed staff to return to the Board with a funding agreement in order to award $1,500 to Tahoe Home Connection to assist with their efforts to partner with second home owners to lease their homes through flexible leases, discount property management services and other incentives. The Board approved Funding Agreement #4018 on May 21, 2019.
Tahoe Home Connection contacted the County to indicate that due to savings realized on the postcard mailers, $1,118 of the $1,500 awarded was unspent. They have requested that these remaining funds be used to support the activities that have resulted from the success of the postcard outreach, namely: creating automated, online tools to match homeowners, employers and tenants; set aside a small amount of funding for monthly operations costs such as an e-mail account and web server; and potentially pay for contract staff to manage day-to-day e-mail communication with homeowners, tenants, and property managers.
An amendment to the scope of the funding agreement is required in order for the funds to be spent for these purposes.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve the amendment, and the Community Foundation would need to remit remaining funds to the County.
