Department of Transportation recommending the Board add the following items to the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Fixed Asset list that were included on the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Fixed Asset list but were not received prior to the end of the fiscal year due to unavailability:
1) One (1) unmanned aerial vehicle in the amount of $31,000;
2) One (1) light detection and ranging in the amount of $35,000; and
3) One (1) camera sensor in the amount of $10,000.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Department of Transportation (Transportation) requests authorization to carryover three (3) pieces of equipment which were included on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26 Fixed Asset list and ordered, however, were not received due to availability issues. This item requests to carryover one (1) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for $31,000, one (1) light detection and ranging (lidar) for $35,000, and one (1) camera sensor for $10,000. The carryover equipment totals $76,000. The budgeted amounts for the equipment are not changing from those listed for FY 2025-26. The budget amendment totaling $76,000 will be included in the changes as part of the FY 2026-27 Adopted Budget process.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board could choose not to approve to carryover these three (3) pieces of equipment; however, purchase orders have already been issued for the equipment.
PRIOR BOARD ACTION
On March 24, 2026, Legistar 26-0200, the Board approved the purchase of these items and added them to the Fixed Asset list.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no impact to net County cost associated with this item as these fixed assets were budgeted for in FY 2025-26 and the savings will carry over to cover the expenses in FY 2026-27. The funding to cover the cost of three (3) additional carryover equipment items totaling $76,000 will be included in the requested adjustments to the budget during the FY 2026-27 Adopted Budget process.
